The Missouri House has endorsed a new package of financial incentives to try to keep the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals playing in the state

Under the plan from Gov. Mike Kehoe, the state would help pay up to half the cost of a new stadium for the Kansas City Royals and a refurbished Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs, though the overall cost was not clear.

As Missouri lawmakers debate a major stadium funding plan designed to keep the Royals and Chiefs on the Missouri side of the state line, local officials in Clay County say they’re ready to play a leading role.
