A 27-year-old man with a rifle and tactical gear was killed Monday morning after exchanging fire with law enforcement officers at a Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas, injuring several.

The man opened fire on the building in McAllen, Texas, on Monday. A border patrol employee and two officers were injured, federal officials said.

Two officers and one Border Patrol employee were injured, including one shot in the knee, a federal spokesperson told USA TODAY. The gunman died.
