Hundreds of police officers and their families from Minnesota are in Washington, D.C. for National Police Week to honor those recently killed in the line of duty.

U.S. Army veteran and businessman Kendall Qualls has officially launched his Minnesota gubernatorial campaign to challenge former Kamala Harris running mate Gov. Tim Walz.

(ABC 6 News) — As fires continue to blaze across northern Minnesota, wildfires have become a growing trend in the state. Governor Tim Walz says the state typically sees about 100 wildfires per year, but so far this year, we’ve already had 970. On Sunday alone, 40 were reported.

Republican Kendall Qualls, a businessman and Army veteran, launched his bid for Minnesota governor on Tuesday. It's not the first time Qualls has sought public office; he made a gubernatorial run in 2022 but lost the GOP nomination to Scott Jensen.
