This NFL offseason, the Seattle Seahawks were at the center of the headlines for USC fans. After signing former Trojan star quarterback Sam Darnold to a three-year contract, Seattle subsequently traded Geno Smith. The Seahawks shipped a player who started the past three seasons for them to Pete Carroll and the Las Vegas Raiders.

Sam Darnold had his choices of where he wanted to further his NFL journey, and he explained why the Seattle Seahawks was the perfect team.

However, the way the Seahawks set up the contract, the team can part ways with Darnold relatively painlessly after just one year. That Seattle spent a third-round pick on former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe at the end of April was the exact opposite of a vote of confidence in Darnold.
