Whenever there’s an issue in the nation’s airspace, like the current string of delays and cancellations at Newark Liberty International Airport, air traffic controllers come under a microscope.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Friday that the “glitch this morning at Newark” was caused by the same issues as last week.

The blackout included losing radar for about 90 seconds at Newark Terminal Radar Approach Control at 3:55 a.m. local time, a source with knowledge of the incident tells CNN.
