DOOM: The Dark Ages is an exciting release for Xbox Game Pass subscribers this May, but another release coming this month also deserves attention.

DOOM: The Dark Ages launched this past week to excellent reviews. Our own Brendan Lowry gave it a perfect score, noting the refreshing twist on traditional DOOM gameplay mechanics and a stellar art direction.

Here comes the Doom Slayer in a new adventure, arriving in The Dark Ages shortly for superfans of the franchise and players on Xbox Game Pass.

It currently holds an average score of 85 on Metacritic and boasts Very Positive reviews on Steam, securing its place as one of the highest-rated games of the year. It’s the 15th best-reviewed release of 2025 so far, and easily a must-play for fans of fast-paced shooters.

More games are launching across Xbox Game Pass soon, including DOOM: The Dark Ages. More games are headed to Xbox Game Pass, with id Software's DOOM: The Dark Ages one of many titles coming this month, as shared via Xbox Wire on Tuesday.

Looking ahead, and in particularly looking at June 2025, the big day one game for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to look forward to was/is Rematch. However, there may now be another day one release that is even bigger. More specifically, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can look forward to Rainbow Six Siege X.
