This past season was the first time in 28 years that longtime Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland was not in charge of an NHL team, and he didn’t like it. That’s why Holland will become the general manager of the Los Angeles Kings by the end of the week, according to multiple reports.

Holland, who won four Stanley Cup titles as an executive with the Red Wings, will replace Rob Blake, whose contract was not renewed after a fourth straight first-round playoff exit.
