The first Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight to Paris in four years has departed Islamabad after a ban from EU airspace was lifted last year.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered an inquiry into a controversial social media post by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) that celebrated the resumption of flights to Europe after a four-year hiatus.

The development follows the European Commission and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) decision last year to lift the suspension on PIA, granting the airline permission to resume flight operations to Europe.
