PLAINS, Ga. - The small post office in Plains will be renamed on Wednesday to honor the city's most famous residents: former President Jimmy Carter and former first lady Rosalynn Carter.

The ceremony comes months after U.S. Rep. Sanford Bishop introduced H.R. 9600, which designated the U.S. Postal Service on Main Street in Plains as the “Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter” Post Office.
