Rocklin High School faced a wave of teacher absences Thursday amid rumors of a protest over a new assistant principal hire.

While cardinals this week said they expected a short conclave, it will likely take at least a few rounds of voting.

State law requires the current rate to be bumped up to 19% on July 1, and the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration must adjust the rate every two years thereafter.
