Tadeo Allende scored twice and Inter Miami tied the San Jose Earthquakes 3-3 on Wednesday night in Lionel Messi's first game in the Bay Area since joining MLS. Allende scored once in the first half and then tied the game in the 52nd minute when he tapped in a pass Baltasar Rodríguez on a play that Messi helped set up.

Lionel Messi tried but could not snap a 3-3 tie between Inter Miami and host San Jose on Wednesday at soldout PayPal Park.

Dickerson was not the only person who reacted strongly to Messi's petulant behavior. Current San Jose and former United States Men's National Team coach Bruce Arena had to intervene in order to save the Inter Miami star from himself. "That's universal language when you're talking about referees," Arena said with a grin after the game.
