The National Weather Service is surveying the area in south central Kentucky that was hit with a deadly tornado. According to the NWS, there was a preliminary EF-2 or possible low end EF-3 tornado that struck Pulaski and Russell counties along their border with each other.

NWS teams will be surveying in Laurel County Sunday and Monday to determine the strength of storms that hit that area.

At least one tornado touched down in Russell County and moved into western Pulaski County during severe storms late Friday and early Saturday in Kentucky, according to the National Weather Service. A preliminary report from the weather service confirmed an EF2 level of damage from the storm.
