Nuno Borges had hoped to wear a Diogo Jota soccer jersey onto court at his match at Wimbledon but he settled for a black ribbon on his hat instead.

Wimbledon officials blocked Portugal No 1 Nuno Borges’s request to wear a Portugal football shirt on to court in tribute to Diogo Jota, it has been claimed.

Wimbledon will allow players to break the strict all-white dress code at the All England Club following the tragic death of Diogo Jota. The Liverpool and Portugal forward was killed in a car crash in the early hours of Thursday morning.
